Aldersgate is a non-profit social services agency with skilled professionals addressing life issues for children, men, women, teens, families, and providing services for organizations such as schools, courts, child welfare agencies, police departments, and adult and juvenile probation.

Aldersgate is a private, non-profit social services agency dedicated to promoting healthy relationships and the well being of children, adults, and families through highly successful, diversified programs in counseling, substance abuse prevention and intervention, and community outreach.

With over 200 years of experience, team members have the clinical and counseling tools that help individuals, families, and organizations become successful, productive, well-balanced members of and contributors to the community.
Our reputation for professional, confidential, and successful services attracts referrals from child and family welfare agencies, courts, police departments, school districts, as well as individuals to our services. In addition, each year our clinical programs attract and mentor graduate students from area universities for practicums in counseling, family therapy, psychology, and social services graduate degrees.

A long history of success
Officially incorporated in 1971 – Our long, successful history began when we were officially incorporated as “The Upper Moreland Youth and Drug Council, Inc.” in 1971.
Our name, “Aldersgate” – Our name was derived from our location at the Aldersgate House of the Willow Grove United Methodist Church. Initially, volunteers provided drop-in counseling, crisis intervention, information, and referral components. Soon, professional counselors and therapists were hired and we became designated as a Youth Services Bureau.
Today – Over our four-decade history, Aldersgate has earned a well-respected reputation as an experienced youth and family social services agency, funded primarily by government contracts, county, and private contracts, grants, community donations, and client fees. Services are provided to residents of Montgomery County.
