who we are

Aldersgate is a non-profit social services agency with skilled professionals addressing life issues for children, men, women, teens, families, and providing services for organizations such as schools, courts, child welfare agencies, police departments, and adult and juvenile probation.

A history of success

Our long, successful history began when we were officially incorporated as “The Upper Moreland Youth and Drug Council, Inc.” in 1971. The name “Aldersgate” was derived from our location at the Aldersgate House of the Willow Grove United Methodist Church. Initially, volunteers provided drop-in counseling, crisis intervention, information, and referral components. Soon, professional counselors and therapists were hired and we became designated as a Youth Services Bureau.

Over our fifty-year-plus history, Aldersgate has earned a well-respected reputation as an experienced youth and family social services agency. We are funded primarily by government contracts, county, and private contracts, grants, community donations, and client fees. Aldersgate Youth Services is a secular organization whose services are provided to residents of Montgomery County.

We support our thriving community!
